For you lucky west coasters that went, did Steve Saleen unveil the new car, or a sketch or anything? I have been hearing a lot of rumors/conjecture that it will be shown this weekend.

So did they?
Hopefully it is better than Roush's "photoshop" version of their car.

Thanks!

The show begins tomorrow. They claim that they will unveil it then. I'm sure there will be pictures up soon.

Saleen

Just got back from the show. There were three people at the entrance to the unveiling of the 05 it was in a small display room, they took my camera and camera phone before I could go inside. I had my 7 year old son with me and neither one of us was impressed. Very plane non aggressive looking, for those who could not make it you didn't miss anything. :notnice:

Groups of five people at a time were escorted into a makeshift room and placed in front of two Saleen employees holding a curtain closed. Then they pulled the curtain open and you could see the front three-quarter view of the car. Maybe thirty seconds later the curtain was drawn closed and the group led out of the room. The car was painted in silver. From only one view it was difficult for me to get a real feel for what was going on with the car. I really wanted to see the back side. It certainly did not have an abundance of gills, like we see on the current cars. More plain than typical for Saleen, maybe but there was something pretty different about the car that I cannot put my finger on.

The ’05 S281 was “previewed” at the Saleen Car Show, with the official unveiling occurring at the Anaheim Car show, late October. One Saleen spokesperson that was talking up the red and white Ford GT on display (yes, they had one there, too), mentioned that the ’05 S281 would be available with power up to 500HP.

I saw several employees wearing polo shirts embroidered with Saleen models on the sleeve. “S281, N2O Focus, Twin Turbo S7”. Twin Turbo?! I didn’t have an opportunity to ask anyone about that.

the 500hp model will be the E varient to be availble sometime in the begining of 05, the SC models are supposed to have over 400HP, the first cars out are going to be the NA one's which is what will be the model showed at the intro.

Heh, the story on the 05 TT S7....................I got a closeup look at the test mule............it's going to be very interesting.

That's hard to believe considering all the people that were around. There were three at the enterance, taking your camera's and phones, two by the curtain watching your every move, and two when you left. They were pretty serious about keeping it "under wraps" until the official unveiling at the Anaheim show. I thought it was a little palin jane as well. However, it was still very nice. Plus, the color lighting, and short look we got didn't do it justice I'm sure. Awesome show though...

Here I'll save you all the time of surfing for a useless picture... This is the real deal but who can tell anything from this!??

You know this really pisses me off! :bang: Some people's kids. Saleen didn't do a friggin "pat-down", and some a-hole decides to sneak a camera in. Fortunately, the picture doesn't really show you squat. That same idiot would be the one throwing a fit if Saleen wouldn't have allowed anyone to see the car! I thought it was pretty cool that they even let people in to see the car before the "legal" introduction of the car in a few months. People like this guy are the ones that blow it for everyone, and why companies don't do things like Saleen did at the show! Saleen had people put their camera's and cellular phones in a container prior to going in and relied on the "honor system" for people. Just goes to show you, some people have no integrety! Obviously this POS should have been left out of the gene pool....

I totally agree, :nice: too bad the pos wasn't caught doing it. Also when I found the pic I did a roflmao, cause the picture is so totally useless! Serves em right!
Saleen should just post a date and then show it. The Saleen show would have been a good time. Waiting until end of OCT was it? Too long for us (me)Saleen fans.

Thanks Dennis :)

Also,
It was nice meeting you Marcus & "Sal" in person. Sal, sorry we got started on the PCH drive a bit late, hope you still had a good time. You know, had your wife gone for a spin w/ me in the Miata I most likely would not have ended up spinning it out in a double-loop :D

Aahh, the late start was no big deal. The main problem is that both my wife and I were fighting a head cold. We never get sick, but I started on Thursday about mid-day and she started Friday night. So there we were, sucking down Robatussin and munchin on Tylenol/Cold caplets like Skittles all weekend.

Yea, the driving event is going to cost me for a while. There I was trying to convince her that you could drive and she'd have fun riding with you and next thing you know you are doing 360's through the cones. Yea, you caused me to get punched! She's still telling people in our family how I tried to "bump her off" at the driving event... :rlaugh:
