Went out this past thursday night with my buddy, who's a member of the local BMW club,to a local go-kart track. It was repaved last year and has become a great little place to run a car. The local SCCA,Corvette club, and the BMW club have used it quite a few times now.
Anyways, that was my first experience running the car on a track that wasn't the 1/4 mile. I have to admit that it was quite a bit of fun. The guys were very open to having non-beemer cars there but i was the only one. I was worried that i might embarass myself, being my first time and the fact that i was running with a group of cars that are renowned for their handling right from the factory. I am proud to say i was not the slowest car there, infact i was solidly mid-pack(out of only 8 cars).
The course was a nice all around circuit with a fair amount of cornors and straight aways(was hitting about 120-130 kph on the longest straights). I am looking forward to doing it again, especially after i put my new Maximum Motorsport caster camber plates(replacing my old 3-bolt Steeda's). Should be able to dial out some of the understeer that the car has now.
Learned quite a bit about how the car likes to be driven and set up for taking cornors. I had a good idea about it's strengths and weaknesses,as well as the basics of handling so i certainly wasn't going in blind but you just never know how well the car will take to it.

. I'm guessing you probably didn't need it if your only getting to 120-130. Would have made for an interesting run though if the tires would hold in the corners. Awesome man.
