Difference 96-98 and 99-01 Cobra

I know there is alot of differences in the 96-98 Cobras and th 99-01, but aside from the aluminium block I thought the engines were the same. I see on the classifieds a 99-01 complete intake and it is completly different from mine. Did the 99-01 Cobras make more power? I think the 96-98 plenums are a thing of beauty but the 99-01 are pretty plain. Why was it changed? Is it better than the one I have?

They dont even get into the IRS, in 01 they went with the t3650, 31 spline axels, comletely different body style starting in 99, blah,blah,blah.

The 96-98s have different heads, & intake for 1. & the 99-01's have Independent rear suspension. 96-99 Cobras have the T45 tranny while 01's have the tremec 3650 tranny. 01 Cobras have better seats with suede inserts. 96-98's look sexier imo There are more differences, but this is all I can think of right now, besides the totally different body styles.

I know about all the other stuff, what I was asking about was just the engine. Do they make more power than the 96-98's? Are the heads better? Is the intake better, because it does not look as nice IMO.

The 96-98's have one of the sexiest looking motors ever put in a stang, but unfortunately the 99-01's are superior. The head design is different & I do beleive that they flow better. Not too sure of the specifics, but i know that the 99-01's also dont have the IMRC's that the 96-98's have.
