My junk heap is finally running again, but I've got a tranny question. The tranny that was bolted to the donor 5.0 is a 4-cyl T-5 tranny. Other than gear ratios, is there any difference? I only ask b/c I DO have my original T-5 that came off of my GT, but the reverse is shot. Can I run this 4-cyl tranny till I can buy the T-56 to drop in?

The 4 cylinder transmission has a smaller diameter input shaft. Also, the 4 cylinder transmission is rated for lower torque than the 5.0 T-5. Alot of people will tell you no you can't use the 4 cylinder transmission but I used one for almost 2 years. You will need to get a custom pilot bearing for it, but it can be used at least for short term. Mine held up under some pretty rough conditions but it did grind into almost every gear after awhile.

Okay, cool...so i'm not even going to mess w/ it. The 4-cyl tranny came bolted to the engine already and the donor car ran its balls off. So I'm not gonna touch it till I drop a T56 in there (or blow the 4-cyl T5 up) :D
