I just did the swap.

The rubber has the same SKU#s in it on original vs the GT500 arms.

As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the regular arms are all black and the GT500 arms are colored silver on the main body.

Haven't gone for a test drive yet, but I will in a bit.

Any ideas?

Casting #s on the arms themselves are different, but that's the only thing I've noticed so far. The GT500 arms might be a mite thicker than the stockers.

I hate to say this but unless you got those for real cheap (next to free) there are way better alternatives to control arms that have proven performance gains over the GT500 units. They may be slightly thicker (which is bad for weight reduction of components) but in terms of stiffness they do not compare to even the most economical tubular aftermarket setups.

No worries. The racing class I'm running in only allows for specific modifications, lower control arms are not allowed to be changed except with another factory spec part. Considering the way they're described (higher durometer rubber, significant upgrade from stock components), I expected a little more.

If I wanted to go up to a less limited class, I would have picked one of the redesigned ideas that seem to have higher torsional rigidity with significantly less weight. However, I'm not willing to go as far with the modification to take advantage of said classes.

Thanks though!

Sounds like you're into some kind of SCCA Auto-X class right? I may have jipped myself when I did all my suspension mods. Still wouldn't an OEM part off a Roush Stage 3 work and be legit in your event?

I don't think that Stage 3's come with different LCA's. I have the billet Roush ones, but I don't think any Roush cars come with anything other than stock, even the Trak Pak.

Good point. Since Roush Mustangs are produced as a separate number, if the models are high enough, you can run anything they put on them.

as ct07gt said though, I don't see modified LCAs on the parts list comprising an S3 Roush. (ROUSH Performance - 2009 Stage 3 ROUSH Mustang)

However, that supercharger could come in handy...

I was under the impression some Roush models came with upgraded billet control arms, at least you could order one with them. A bit of a stretch when it comes to "oem - factory" parts but one could make the argument...

All Steeda Q-Series cars have them.
