Differential Fluid

Hey guys i have a 97 gt manual with 82k on the odometer and i wanted to do a differential fluind change on it. What type of oil to use? and if there is anything i should know before i start. Thanx in advance

I use Royal Purple. It has the friction modifier for the limited slip added to it. I think I used 74/145 but check your manual to see what weight you need. There should be a tag on the rear end cover that tells your gear ratio and weight of oil to use. That's what my 02 GT has on it. Pearl02.

Thats what I use, the Royal Purple, usually order a case off of of ebay or amazon, whichever has it cheaper.

I used 75w90 Amsoil Gear Oil with Ford Friction Modifier.

75w90 oil. Valvoline I think... Can't remember now. But use the FORD friction modifier regardless.

I think mobil 1 makes a 75w-90 for differentials as well...
