Dimming guages

So Santa bought me a 3 gauge pod pillar set and i am wondering if i can add a dimmer switch to these as they are a bit too bright for my liking.I would like them to match the dash lights as close as possible.They are lit with LED's. Any ideas on what type of dimmer switch to buy? I did a search on google and came up with this----> Auto Meter LED Dimmer Switch PN 9114

You can go right off the stock dimmer switch. I have a write-up around it somewhere. Let me see if I can find it.

Yes, i wanted to go that route but if i dim the gauges to a level where i like it the dash lights will be very dim.

Did you wire the gauges in series?

No they are not, should they be?

That's what I did. Rather than getting ~12V to each LED in a parallel circuit, you are getting ~4V. Could be something to try.

What exactly will this do? Will the gauge lights become dimmer? I'm not much of a wiring guru as you can tell. If you have a diagram on how to wire this it would be helpfull, this can be my project for next w/e.

I would draw you a picture but this stupid computer doesn't have paint. Just make sure that you go through all the bulbs in a series. Just like christmas lights. The only bad thing about this is that if you have one fail, they will all go out. I know if you put a full 12V to the regular auto meter bulbs they are bright.
