So me and my pa got to talking about doing a front disc conversion because of saftey reasons (and it will please my ma). What are the best places for the money to get a COMPLETE kit? I mean complete, with everything I need in it so I don't have to go back and buy seperate pieces. Has anyone had experience with Rod and Custom Motorsports? I saw a thread in here before and ordered their catalog but the disc brake kit doesn't look like it includes everything I need. Although I think they have good prices  Any other places I should look? Oh and I'd like it to bolt to my existing spindles, so I don't have to buy the granada setup. And do I want a manual or power brake kit? I suppose the manual would be easier to install? Thanks!

i got mine from mustangdepot.com out of las vegas. they didn't have it in stock so the had ssbc mail it to me directly. the kit was complete except for one fitting that i had to find an adapter for. one tip: buy GOOD tubing wrenches, ie. not the checker special but snapon or matco. i bent and had to replace more fittings because i was cheap the first time.

the distro block was fun too. ended up cutting the line off the distro block and putting a new fitting on.

you will have to bend a couple of short lines, no big deal just buy the $15 bender and yours should come out fine with patience. alot an entire weekend or a full week at 2 hrs a day. for the swap.

Try Mustang Steve´s disc conversion. He uses cobra 13 inch discs, and cobra calipers. You get to use your spindles and hubs (so no alignment needed), for $750. If you already have power brakes then you´re all set, but if your car does not have power brakes, he also sells a bolt in kit with booster for $300 bucks.
The good thing about his kits is that he uses new Ford parts, so availability of spare parts is not an issue.

Bought a kit from Sumitt Racing. The Stainless Steel Brake Company SSB-A120D. $948 total, shipping is free, had them in stock, ships right away tomorrow. Can't beat that! Thanks everyone.

Hey BullittFB do you know if you have to have power brakes for Steve's kit or can you use the manual brakes with a dual resivor master cylinder??
They can work with manual brakes, but they're really intended to be used with power brakes.
Dude, not to rain on your party, but for 100 bucks more you could've had power brakes and 13 inch rotors. On the other hand, it's your car. :nice:

All you have to do is have the rotor pressed. You can do it by tightening the lug nuts. It won't break, or take it to a machine shop.
I got one of them snugged down by torquing the crap outta them using a star-pattern (like puttin on the wheel). While doing the second one one of the lugs broke loose and now turns...sigh. I'm gonna have to have a machine shop press in a new stud so I'll have them do that rotor too.

I already had the calipers and rotors, but since my car had factory discs I had to purchase the drum-hubs. Cost of the bracket-adapters and hardware was $300. I am quite happy with the results!

Put me down as a second vote for MS's solution, should be mentioned here that 17" rims are a minimum requirement for 13" rotors and PBR (Cobra) calipers, I'm pretty sure that is common knowlege but you never know and I did not see it mentioned above.
