I currently have a predator tune in my car, and am going to be installing a stereo soon. The stereo's instructions say to disconnect the battery before I install the stereo, will this reset the cars tune back to stock?

Do I even need to disconnect the battery?

The Predator tune will still be there. It won't go back to the factory tune.

You will lose the changes to the adaptive tables the ECM has learned thus far. After re-connecting the battery and driving around a while will get them back to where they need to be.

Your owner's manual has the information on what to do after disconnecting battery.

You will not lose your tune.

The tune is in NVM. Non-volatile memory.

I can say that they are correct, cause I disconnected mine. It was not by choice. My battery died and I had to replace it.

Your new tune is stored in the ECU just like the stock one. The stock never clears itself and niether will the new tune. So don't worry about it.
