discovered a tick from water pump

ok for a while now it have had this tick from the engine. engine acts the same so i payed it no mind. Then today i turned the car off and discovered the tick still ticked for 5 secs after the motor was stopped. I started it and stopped it again and found it, its from the water pump. I am sure its a sign of it going out. lately the car will just suddenly run hotter for no reason at all.

so what exactly may be causing this tick?

I would lean more to your fan clutch not the water pump.....

With the car OFF/NOT RUNNING and warmed up, rotate the fan, see if it's what is actaully making the noise. If so, simple fix....If not.....not..

Mine made a strange noise, engine mounts were bad, caused the engine to drop down and the fan to get into the shroud. Replaced the mounts, problem solved.

i got an electric fan so i dont have the clutch fan, i thought mine was bad couple weeks ago but after i started to take the fanshroud off it was fine, the motor was sagging due to bad motor mounts i guess. I guess that what happens when u take trannies out alot.
