I have noticed when setting timing with the plug pulled the timing still jumps around a degree or two. Is this a sign of a bad distributer? The Module went out last night (or so I think) and I was thinking maby I should replace the whole thing with a MSD or Accel unit.

Since you stated that your TFI went out last night or you think so it sounds logical. Also it might be slack in your timing chain.

I put a new timing chain on when I did the cam which was less than a year ago. When I pull the cap and rotor, I can move the shaft enough that you can hear and feel the play, it is mush more noticable with the rotor attached. My buddy got a Billet MSD unit, it was real solid.

You might want to check your distributor gear. It's not a very problamatic area but your typical distributor unit is a solid, one peice shaft and the only place where it could develope "slop" would be where the unit picks up the timing at - the timing gear on the bottom of the unit.

Thanks, I didn't think about that but that makes perfect sence. I have scene the distributer drive gear advertised, I think I will pick one up.
