Ok so I've been having some strange issues lately that have gotten progressivly worse. Mycar has trouble starting every morening. It takes 2-3 trys for it to turn and if I do not let it warm up it wont start back up for many trys. I've noticed that when running it will buck here and there and occasionally it stalls and wont start back up for a while after. When I am at a stop it sometimes has a very low idle near 600 rpm. My dist. cap had been on backwards for a while but I switched it back around and all wires are in right position. When I took the cap off and tried to calibrate the rotor to the #1 cylinder, it wouldn't go to the number 1 , but rather right before it or right after it. I think my dist. needs to be recalibrated but I am not sure. Please help!!:bang:

I didn't think you could put the distributor cap on backwards. I thought it was offset keyed to prevent that.

Anyway, how are you trying to calibrate the distributor? If you have it close enough to run, you should be able to put a timing light on it with the spout plug pulled and adjust it to 10 degrees BTDC by rotating the body of the distributor.

Good luck,

Barney
