I used this paint on my cowl early last summer. I finally got some pictures of it this weekend. Keep in mind that the car is pretty dusty since it's only been washed once in the last 9 months, but you should get the idea. The cowl is a nice beautiful black, not too shiny and not too dull.

I simply removed it from the car, washed it with soap and water, then water, then let it dry. Next I put about 8-10 very light coats of black. Don't put it on thick or it may run and you'll also loose the much desired (IMO) texture. Once you have a good coating of black, put a couple light coats of clear on. Allow to dry for 24 hours before reinstalling. I painted it completely in 1 night and installed it the next day. It looks beautiful, next time I go home I'll try to wash the car and get a couple good outside pictures.

Call me crazy :D but I put some of that 'wet tire shine' product on it that comes in a can and that has lasted for about a month now..
:nice: But great idea if you want to go from orig black to some other color..
 Hmmm.. Anyone painted one another color besides black?? Pics??

yea its not hard to paint and looks nice.. Does give the front end a longer look, when painted the cars color. Anyone doing this, i would suggest pulling off the mesh grill from the backside of the panel, and painting it flat black, to also mask off the rubber seal/lip on the top of the panel, and to mask off the little wiper squiters.. makes for a clean look when done this way, IMO.
Il have to strip it back down and do that way somtime

:rlaugh: I painted mine like a dunce and it started peeling like a mofo afterwards and flaking all over the car! :bang: I had to pull it back off and strip it down and painted it again also. :p

Forgot to add, I painted the black strip, figuring that it would peel off, but it never did. That was only with 1 summer outside though, it's been in the garage ever since.

Also, the window squirters pop out, you don't have to mask them off. :nice:
