I called up a local auto place and he said tinting on my stang would be $200! that seems kinda high to me, i mean id rather put that money to use for performance mods. so i was looking for alternatives and i found pre cut tint on ebay for like 40 bucks. has anyone tried to put tint on themselves? does it turn out ok, or is it obvious it was not done professionally. i would just like some info on these tint kits. thanks

It costed me $140 to get the tint to 20%. $200 is a bit steep.

I tinted two windows on a Mazda MX6.

you wont have any trouble I dont think. Just make sure you take your time. The only one you're gonna have a problem with is the rear window. If you decide to goto walmart or something and get their tint there, its not nearly big enough to cover the back window. Which kinda sucks. just make sure you clean the windows good with soap and water and a razor blade.
What works good if you do decide to cut your own tint, is to rub a drier sheet with water on the windows, and then lay the tint onto the window and cut it out with a razorblade. To shrink the tint slightly, use a heat gun.

With the drier sheet on the outside of the window the tint wont stick to it.

Thanks for the info I think I am going to go for it, I couldnt find a pro that would do it for less than 100 as I was calling arround today. I hope 22% will be ok with the popos, the law is 30%. Is there a big difference in 8%? I can only find 22..

No you should be fine, just roll your window down if you get pulled over before the cop gets there...allthough I hope you would do that anyways.
