Do any of you experts know the diameter of the sensor hole for the cai sensor?

I am going to make a home made one like Grady's AWESOME setup! I just am not sure how to encorporate the sensor thingy into the PVC and what size diameter and thread hole to do....

I think it's 5/8" diameter for a speedbore in PVC.

+1, like 95% sure. all you need to do is drill the hole. the sensor will make its own threads.

I have used a 5/8" Speed-bit, cut the PVC like butter and it fit the balls..Position it like so in the air flow...I knew you knew that...

Just to clarify a bit

I never gave much info about my little cai project other than I took the easy way out when ever possible

The act sensor was no exception

I used Fernco plumbing connectors at the tb & maf

I bored a hole in the connector that was only about 2/3's the size of the act threads.

Since the Fernco connector is made of thick rubber, the act screwed in the hole with no probs and is held in place quite tightly.

btw ... I used the same method for a 90 degree plastic barb and reused the original factory formed hose to connect to the oil fill tube nipple on my Fox vc's.

IMHO, the project would look better (but not function any better) if one used the blue or which ever color one chooses, connectors rather than the Fernco connnectors.

Of course with that method, making a hole in the pipe for the act would be a must do kinda thing

i think he means the angle the picture was taken from doesn't show the intake very well ...

Thanks everyone! Ok coupla questions...

#1 I have a short crankcase ventilation thingy (not a personal prob, lol). It gets IN THE WAY. Where do I get one with a longer tube that places it above the new CAI tubing?..er maybe I could place the current one in a rubber hose and somehow get it to fit into the current VC hole..? Is there a tough glue for rubber to rubber connections?

#2 Grady, you HAD to have CUT your inner fender to get that stuff inside your fenderwell without any bends...no? ..Well I got mine in but I will not say how... .

the post with the pic of the drill press agrees it is 5/8"

i have made 2 pvc intake tubes and both times i just drilled the hole and screwed the sensor directly into it. believe me, it makes its own threads. just be careful to keep it straight the first time in because it is a tight fit.
