Do I need a dyno tune?

My mods are: K&N Air Filter, !Air Silencer, !MAF Screen, Accufab 75mm Throttle Body, C&L Upper Intake Plenum, Hooker coated Long Tube Headers, Hooker Off Road X-Pipe, SLP Loudmouth Catback.

The car is running fine and I don't hear any detonation. Is it ok if I wait a few weeks to get it tuned or is it in my best interests to get it done sooner? Thanks

well.... you should be fine, prolly running a little on the rich side, but a tune certainly couldn't hurt. i'm nearly positive that you'll find some unused hp in the tune though

You should be fine waiting a few weeks. I went about a month after I did my PI headswap without a tune. Then the motor blew up.

It's always recommended to get a tune after a LT install.

i did not know this!! i've had mine on almost for a year now and almost 20K miles and haven't gotten a tune. so i should probably get a tune huh?

If the car is running too rich or too lean.. then you want to get it tune.. A tune is always a good idea in any situation however..

How much does a reburn cost? The reason I was considering waiting a little while to get a tune is because I want to look into getting new cams for the car.

OMG...your engine blew up......

note to self, get tune at time of swap.

Depends on where you go. Some shops offer free reflash.

I don't think its gonna hurt to get one but I don't think it needs to be done ASAP. And don't expect to pick up much power but more than likely the tuner will just smooth everything out.

Mhissticcobra a dyno tune is where they run your car on a dyno and see what kind of power your making and adjust a/f ratios, timing etc. and then burn a custom chip for your specific car!

well baisically, they will hook you up to a dyno & do a few pulls & see what hp you are putting out & also check your air/fuel ratio. and if the a/f ratio is off they can modify it, to make sure your car is running the way it should be

How do they adjust the air/fuel ratio? - By the way, thanks for the help- that is what I thought it was but it didn't seem necessary after a long tube install.

I've personally seen bone stock Mustangs pick up 10-15 HP from a dynotune.

Air to Fuel ratio is adjusted electronically. You can get 10-15 hp out of a dynotune or more but it depends how far they want to go. With a good safe tune with exhaust lt's and other bolt ons I'd say 6-10rwhp! But its all the tuner some are better than others one of my buddies had similar mods and got a dyno tune and picked 6-8rwhp and equal tq but it smoothed everything out as far as how the engine ran. If you go with an off the shelf chip they will claim 20-25 hp, but that is excessive and they are probably putting things to the lean side!
