Hi, I'm very new to all of this stuff. Bought a like new 2000 GT, 5spd, with 29k on it this past Oct.(sitting in storage now, winter sux!!) Its great, but I'm itching for more power. I think I'm going to go the s/c route. Reading alot on here, I think my best bet is the Mongoose Paxton kit from MPH. I've read the stock engine internals are good for up to 400 hp, I plan on no more than 375 hp to be safe till I have the cash to build up the 4.6.

My question is do I have to "build up" the rear end to handle the increase in power? And what exactly does that entail? Is there anything else that needs to be strengthend up to handle more power?

If your going to see any track time with sticky tires then I would. Set of axles, moser or strange 31 spline would be sufficient, eaton or another kind of posi-unit would definatley work for you. Strange has good axle/posi-unit/C-clip eliminator packages for a pretty good deal.
