Do no tailpipes= less horse power?

I have not put tailpipes on my car yet and I kind of like the way the car sounds but a mechanic told me I'm lacking back pressure. Do I need to put tailpipes on. Am I losing power with them off? I have h-pipe with flowmasters.

Plenty of people run dumps with no problems. If you took the mufflers off, yes you would be losing power.

a good question becuase i just took mine off today lol, i put dumps on right after the mufflers.

maybe a couple not really to much to miss i ran my flow cat back around the hood with no tails no dumps and it was to bassy,i didnt like it.

You won't probably won't notice anything. If you lose a few HP you make up for that with the weight you save. I ran my bassani with dumps for a while and just recently I put my tails back on (emissions). I noticed no difference.

Some people say theres a torque difference; dumped meaning more, tailpipes meaning less.
