....what do you use?

I'm using a wash mitt with the two bucket method to wash the car...but after a few days the car could stand to be dusted... not necessarily an entire wash.. just take the dust off the car.

Do you use a dusting wand or something similar in between washes?

After reading all these detailing sites it's got me paranoid about scratching the clear the coat.

I use one of the California Car Dusters. It works pretty well and I haven't noticed any scratching. I only use it for light dust and usually wash my car 1 or 2 times a week anyway.

I use a Cali duster too. I keep nice coat of wax on mine and have never noticed any scratches. I can usually go a week or two between washes, but its not a daily driver and is only taken out weather permitting

I always kept a car cover on my 65 Fast back so it stayed somewhat dust free and used a Calif. duster just to get the lint off . But my black 67 fast back show scratches if i use a duster, It looks like swirls after a while and i have to hand glaze to remove it.
