My radiator boiled over the other day when I was sitting in traffic, not moving for about 30-45 minutes. I didn't notice my water temp guage spike but suddenly steam started to bloom from the hood. I was damn lucky I was on the right hand lane and was able to pull over to the side and let the car cool down before the tow truck came.

It sucked sitting there with my car spilling over radiator fluid and crap all over the road. I didn't have my cell phone with me either, so I was at the mercy of people pulling over to help ... and I eventually found someone to call AAA for me.

I don't live in a hot climate, but wow.... my car just wasn't going to have it that day. This happened on Monday afternoon after I installed the UDP on the previous Sunday. I had to have my cooling system drained, flushed and refilled costing me $97 after tax.

I have a Mach 1000 Audio system, it doesn't really take a hit for the power but I can see the lights dim slightly when a portion of the song gets into heavy bass. Even the guage faces / clock get a little dim.

Otherwise I wouldn't really worry about the UDP, I wasn't moving for a long while in hot location surrounded by a sea of cars. The problem is the fact the water pump wasn't spinning as fast and couldn't cool her down like it was needing. It's on the stock thermostat too, I need to get an 180* to open the flow sooner.

The only thing I noticed when I installed my steeda u/p's was that my idle droppped to around 650, which would dim the lights when the cart was idling. I recently had a reflash and had the idle increased to 750 which fixed the problem.

If that's the case, then I might scratch pullies off my list. I'm in Texas.

It will be interesting to see what others experienced... subscribing.

Ive got some friends that had them in TX also and they removed them due to cooling issues. Id suggest no.

I work in Ft. Worth.

I have had NO issues WHATSOEVER with the pullies and they've been on through a summer/winter cycle.

The guages set exactly where they did with the old pulleys.

I dyno-d a 6 RWHP 6 RWTQ gain with them.

I just had my first REAL test driving to Carlisle PA for the Ford show via Staten Island. Many hours in traffic, although they've been on for about a year now and never had any problems with dimming either. I do have a 180 degree t-stat installed about 2 months ago - not sure if that helped out at all, it did drop the temp gauge one letter on the word normal since putting it in.

I have had mine for over a year(half the time in North Dakota) and have had no problems what so ever with mine, I am in So Cal now and it is starting to hit mid 90's with no problems.

2 years now with my Steeda Under drive pulleys ( 1 year in florida ) and never ever had a problem what so ever , I have a pretty juicy stereo and never had a charging issue.

I gained ( on a mustang Dyno ) 4 RWHP and 7 Ft-Lbs Torque .

IMO pulleys are good .

I did pulleys on a 87 GT and never had a problem either. :nice:

I have some charging problems, granted I have a 1000 watt system, but I have a capacitor for that which should take care of that problem. However, I have a digital voltmeter, not just the one on the dash, and after the install I noticed a major drop in voltage. I use to be at 13.8 at the minimum with my lights on, and 14.2 during the day, now I am like 13.00 during the day, and barely 12.00 volts at night with the lights on.
