the auto is the same tranny from the S-Type Jaguars.

The 5R55S auto trannie that the 05+ Mustang uses is an updated version of the 5R55N that was used in the 00 - 02 Jag S type.

In 2003 the S-type switched to a ZF 6 speed auto for the V8 (may have still used the 5R55 in the base V6 model). Starting in 2004 all S-types got the 6 speed ZF. The ZF is quite a trannie, blows away the 5R55 in refinement and can handle a lot more torque.

I've had two, heh. Had an 05 V6 auto and just traded it in on Saturday for an 06 GT auto. I was looking for a manual both times but i have to say i love the auto. If you get a good tune the auto kicks ass. BamaChip's race tune is incredible.

Some of them. Some of them went with the car. I'm keeping the GT stock for now. I got sick of spending all that money on my other car. Now I just want to make payments(with no interest! lol).
