I’m getting my off road pipe & do you really need the MIL eliminators for the cost of them I will just pull the light out of the dash that’s what I have always done to my other cars.
When the light comes on does it do anything to car?

Bad, bad, bad idea. From my understanding of the whole thing the car is trying to tell you that it thinks you have a problem. So if you really had a problem with your car somewhere else in the system from something other than the exhaust system. I have heard that if you don't get the MIL elimnators you could mess up your EEC. I have a O/R pipe and I was going to use homemade Mil's but couldn't figure out which way the darn capactior's positve leg went so I just ordered some plug in's.

If you pull the light you won't know when something bad is going on. You can pick the ones without the connectors for about $15 or $20. You just have to splice the wires in.
