Do you think a 3G alternator will fit in this 5.0?

Hi, I'm working on a project and I had to drop the idler tension er down a little to get some things to fit and that made it closer to the alternator. Now I'm wondering if a 3g is going to fit. I would like to go with the SN-95 style alt in case I have problems on the road parts will be easy to find.
I run this car long distance sometimes.

3gs are pretty much the same size, I dont think you'll have any problems

How bout a 6G? Its like a 3G, but much smaller case

The 95 amp 3G is probably your best bet. It has the smaller housing and will be sure to clear the tensioner.

6g? I don't know what that is. Is it easy to wire like the 3G?

It will have different plugs and will require a little splicing. The 3G will require some splicing as well, but your regulator plug on a 3G will remain untouched. A 6G is a better designed alternator all the way around.

I believe 2001+ v6 mustangs use it...as well as other cars.

2001+ Taurus might use it too

That tensioner bolt is amazingly close to that blower belt, but hey, if it aint touched by now....

But anyway, I'm pretty sure the center of the 3G is in approx. the same place.

I dont have a blower but, I deleted the self tensioner and cut the alt bracket down to get rid of parts I didn't need anymore. I'll post some pics for an example.
