Do your sunvisor lights work on 79-93?

I was trying to get the lights to work in my 93's sun visors as they both dont work.

In my searches it seems most stangs of this era seem to have this problem. This is new to me. So I figured Id ask around and see what you guys experience with yours.

Anyone ever rebuild or swap guts from a working set onto a another?

I have power going into the visor but nothing at the bulb receptacle.

Thanks

Mine have never worked as long as I have owned it (5 years). The power was cut to them. In fact, the lights looked a bit warped as if they heated up and started melting!

mine were working but I took out the bulbs because my battery kept draining. The velcro holding the cover down lost its grip so it kept turning on the lights.

Yes I took pics. Anyone can say they work. I can prove it. Besides something so rare must be caught on film..errr uhh digital chip film thingy...

Besides I wasnt completely sure untll I went and looked. Then I was like Heh..

I am gettn a camera and taken a picture.

Did I mention my ash tay door works too.

It could be the contacts are corroded. Try to DCI them.

mine are the same way, except mine are really warped, not just a bit! it's because the stupid idea ford had to make the vanity mirror flaps out of cloth and a thin piece of cardboard. over time, the velcro started sucking and the cloth stretched a bit and would no longer press the light kill switch and they stayed on ALL the time.

my dome light, map light and ashtray door all work though

This might be kinda off topic, but if you have the visor lights and you've got a phantom battery draw, look there. My buddy had this problem for years before he realized what it was.

ill advised

Mine have never worked, maybe someday I will try to mess with them. I tried to take the Plastic Lenses off one time to see if the Bulbs were ok but it felt like it was going to break so I quit.
