The intakes and powdercoated stuff looks way better in person!

Shouldn't be a problem. I was gonna have mine coated, but didn't really want to spend any more on it. Easy enough to take it back off sometime tho.

I've got about six bruises on my forearm too from it! But it makes a great place to lean on while detailing the lil stuff.

I goofed and got flat black detail paint.....painted the bolts and some other stuff in the upper right corner, you can kinda see where I started that bracket....

Then I stopped and am gonna get gloss.

once we have a sunny day, I'll get her out and really show off the new powdercoating.

Ok OK....lil progress.

Top end is back together. Realize I probably have a rear main seal still leaking.

T-stat needs changing....YES YES we tore it all down and my dumbass didn't get a new T-stat.....trust me.....lesson learned. FOCK!

So while trying to fix all that crap........hit some of it with gloss black to cover the flat black my original dumbass got.

Slowly getting there to a clean bay....

Upper right, notice the difference between flat and gloss black. I'm too lazy to post the original pics with no paint.

And lastly.....

Just how she sits.....needs to be rode hard.

This is like the thread for all those that are stupid sometimes.

Baby steps....try to get out there when I can to do a little painting and cleaning. In between fixing real problems

Brackets.....before and after. Sorry the before is a bit blurry. Damn hard to take a pic when you're drunk....and have the camera on the wrong settings. Oops.

Oh, and drinking and painting not so smart. Spilled a half pint of gloss black paint down my front bumper.

Hope the buffer will get the rest out.

I need to find a better way of stripping those down. As you can tell, I'm sanding some, but still rough. I know the right way is to pull everything off and completely strip and probably spray. But for now, a little brush and bottle of gloss black will have to do. I can still do it the bettr way later.

Do you think I'm wasting my time here?

Honestly it gives me something to do while the wife is working....and surely it looks better than faded black and rusted bolts right?

Oh and I swept my floor just for Lynn. Everytime I open it, the wind blows in all the leafs.....

Ok, having 5300 into it....even having to tear the top end down and replacing manifold gaskets.....and it needs a new rear main seal and alternator....

Still worth it!

Sell it for $10k as she sits.

Haven't done a whole lot on the cleaning part. Have a 3G alt in her now. And finally got the overheating issue worked out. Done a little tooling around on cleaning the bay up. Hopefully the weather will eventually get warmer and stay that way so I can clean the interior and body.

Coil....rusty

Old battery area.....dirty and nasty

Cleaner

The little stuff makes a big difference.

I do have some wiring to clean up. There are a lot of original wires from the AC and original ignition, plus more that can all come out these days.

I really need to update this thread! I had to look back to compare the pics, so far its come along way with just a little powder coat, and a lot of hand cleaning and painting and polishing!!

Since this last pic, I've repainted the fan shroud, painted a bunch of the front brackets and water pump by hand while still on the car, cleaned up the fan and overflow can.....and a few little other things.

Funny, about 2 weeks after painting the water pump I had to put a new one on. I used an aluminum colored rattle can and sprayed it into the lid, then painted it with a small brush. Once painted it looked as good as the new one does!
