DOES MAC AND BBK GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER?

My current exhaust setup consists of...
BBK shorties
BBK o/r h-pipe
2 chamber flows

i like the sound don't get me wrong but the deal is i am looking for a different note and i have heard nothing but good things about the prochamber from mac. but i wanted to know if u guys would recommend that i change the headers too.. to mac

I wouldn't change the headers. If you do go to long tubes, I have read that the mac shorties are a pain to install(when I researched for headers) thats why I went with the bbk shorties. They said that the flanges on the mac didn't line up very well at all with the heads(any set of heads).

ok, but will mixing the two brands make it sound weird, will the two (prochamber, bbk shorties) fit together all right, and how is the loudness of the prochamber compare to the bbk o/r

I'm pretty sure they are bitter rivals and refuse to work together. I had to pay off my lt's and H to accept air used by a "dirty" bbk throttle body. I still don't think they have found out about the bbk fuel pressure regulator and pump. So be careful.

They should fit right up, my bbk shorties fit perfect with my mac o/r h pipe. As far as loudness goes(this is from what I have read) some say they are quiter . When it comes to exhaust it's some what hit or miss they are either going to bolt right up or you will want to sell it to the first person that will offer you $10 for it.

No it's just the o/r h pipe. And yes I love the way the car sounds. And no I just have welded in flow masters, I really don't think I would notice any hp gain from a cat-back until my motor grows up some more .

My MAC headers weren't that hard to install, at least, no more of PITA then any exhaust work is on a 9 year old car! When I did mine I put a used BBK high flow cat H-pipe on there at the same time and it went together like butta. Recently I replaced the BBK H with a BBK o/r X and they mated together fine as well, with the exception of me snapping a header collector bolt cause I'm an idiot. So in my experience, MAC and BBK parts are interchangeable.

As far as changing it up, I don't think different shorties are gonna affect the tone or HP gain. To be honest, I wish I had stayed with the stock headers and spent the 400 dollars on something else... like NOS. My motor doesn't inhale enough to take advantage of all that exhaust work.

The biggest change in tone is gonna be at the muffler.

When I was shopping for headers I read through the old review section here on stangnet and their was a lot of complaints about the flanges not lining up to the heads and the only complaints about the bbk where the welds being crappy. If it wasen't for those complaint I would have gladly went with the macs and paid less.

The prochamber is supposed to be more of a mix between the x and h pipes. Im sure u have gone to mustangexhaust.com and listened to a couple. Thats what im gonna put on the end of my bbk long tubes for my 351 and some 40 series.

Oh yea, prochambers are supposed to make the most power also...always a PLUS.

My BBK O/R X pipe fits up nicely to my MAC catback, so i guess they can be friends sometimes.

well i am not worried about the mid pipe fitting the cat back its the mac mid pipe fitting the bbk headers.
