does this cam look ok

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

does the coloration on this cam look ok? doesnt look too worn does it? I haver never re-used a cam before. always went aftermarket at rebuild time.

Perfectly normal. Every cam I have removed, no matter if it was stock or what, looked just like that.

cool. the motor was toast and I was leary about using anything from it.

I would buy a new cam! If you want to use it, I would at least polish out the lobes

where can you get a "new" H.O cam? I am keeping this car speed density or else I would have already ordered up a new cam.

Unless there is any visible wearn on it, clean it up and stuff it back in.

If you want a better cam that will still work with the SD there are a few good choices. I looked at that option before I converted my 87 to mass air. If your interested just try searching the site theres a lot of info to be found.

Roller cams are very rarely get worn out. Unless some really really bad happened, that I can see in the picture, then that cam is fine. The cam gear would be bad before a lobe wears out.
