So last night me and some friends went out to do a few fun runs. I lined up with my buds 04 GT. His car has CIA, pulley's, O/R midpipe and catback. Since we have nowhere around my town to run from a dig all runs were done from a 2nd gear roll. He honked off 3 times and right away I pulled 1-1 1/2 cars. By the time I was in 4th I had 2 cars and was still slowly pulling and shut down around 110mph with a 2-2 1/2 car lead. We did this 4 times and the results were the same every time. Should my car be able to beat a new edge GT with some bolt ons this bad? I know my car runs strong and thought I would give him a good run but didnt think that I could put a few cars on him. Im just trying to find out where my car stand amongst friends.

No offense but roll races mean NOTHING... (or very little for those who will jump down my throat for that) but the results do sound about right.

A roll race will always be in favor of one car. Running from that speed sounds like your sweet spot, not as much his. I have done a couple roll races with my friend and the results do not add up either...

He has an 03 GT with a filter and SLP catback, vs my car. My car OBVIOUSELY would wipe the floor with him, but from a second gear roll (3rd for me) things evened up real fast. Let him take the hit in 2nd, and it was well through 3rd and into 4th before I pulled by him, and took him by a few cars. Now we hit it from me in 2nd and him in 2nd, or both in third and I would walk 5+ cars before even thinking about shutting down.

My guess is at the race track it would be closer, with both you guys probably in the 13s somewhere (my guess is mid to high for each of you).

I had the car at the track once a few weeks back. It was about 80 degrees with around 90-95% humidity, before I instaled the underdrive pulley's and I ran a 14.3@95 with a 2.01 60ft. It was my first time out with the car and only my 3rd time on a drag strip so I think high-mid 13's is possible with some practice. I think if I ran him from a dig I would destroy him but he wants to do it so we are gonna try to find a spot as the track is about a 2hr drive from me.

Why can't you race from a dig in the same place you are racing now  Or use the highway. Just obviously make sure there are no cars behind you when you come to a complete stop on the highway.
Its hard to go from a dig around here, theres alot of heat from the cops so just stopping in the middle of the road aint gonna work. If you can catch a light with no other cars around then we could do it but thats hard to find.
