Stangjunkie - you're right -- a SHORTER tire makes the car think it has more gear; TALLER tire works the opposite.

ninety15.0 - "...intensive purposes..." -- never heard it put that way before. The phrase is 'for all intents and purposes'....

For all intents and purposes is an old cliche phrase, however for all intensive purposes is a perfectly acceptable phrase....thats wierd you have never heard that before...people say it all the time. ohwell i guess thats the difference between where u are from and where im from. it doesnt really matter though

I think Jstang is running 20's, so he might want to consider running 3.73's or 4.10's to compensate for the extra rotational weight of the wheels

yea i currently got 245/35/20...so 20+3+3=26 im thinkin about 4.10s, im really never on the freeway... but when i am i dont want to feel no more throttle response.. i think the debate between the ideal gear will go on forever lol

I think it's a pointless debate really.

The ideal gear is different for everyone. It all depends on how you set up your car and what you are looking for.

It's almost like a debate about the "ideal" woman.

When I first started racing my LX 2 years ago I was running 14.1->14.3 on 16 inch Nittos they were 25.7 inches tall. When they war out I got a set of ET streets 28/11.5/15,,LOL,,they were HUGE!!! The best I could get was 14.7!!
So tire hieght plays a big role!!
