Does your car feel faster than the dyno reads?

Reason I ask I have a 347 and an automatic. I have had my car dyno'd twice but since it is an automatic they say the readings are off. Last dyno was 310 hp at 370ish torque.

I have been in cars that "claim" to have more horsepower and torque but they just don't seem as quick. I haven't been to the track either so I don't have that as a reference.

Is it that hard to dyno an automatic car? Secondly, do you all think any of the above mentioned numbers are correct? I have all emission legal Trick Flow equipment and a built AODE with 4:10's.

Dynos are garbage unless using them for tuning. I would never race my car off dyno numbers. Its just like a torque wrench....Different people who use it will get a different result, different dynos will give different results, different days, etc. There are too many variables to make a real decision.

Take it to the track and see what it runs. Those are the numbers that tell you what power you have, specifically the mph.

The auto tranny does make it hard to compare dyno results with a stick tranny.

Try to find a bunch of auto tranny dyno results to compare to.

As for how my car feels I could not say.

As for me myself :D

I feel my car needs to be just a little bit faster :nice:

I would not put much stock in "feel".

I have ridden in 400+rwhp 03-04 Cobras that definitely feel slower than my car which has a hundred less rwhp and tq. It's a combination of many things...gearing....torque curve...weight of car....suspension...etc...

Most LS1 F-body's feel very slow...but they're not. Stock 5.0's with 4.10's that run high 14's feel hella fast...but they're not.
