i know this happens to everybody in here....

when your on the freeway and your just minding your own s#*t w/ your lady or by yourself, and you pass somebody, it doesn't matter what lane they are in!...some car out of nowhere just rides along the side of you or behind you until your exit comes up or his exit comes up, you know damn well he's messing w/ you! when my lady is w/ me she never catches those things and she thinks i'm the one messing with them, i always tell her...why in the hell would he wait for me to pass him up for him to speed up...and most of them are flip'n "TRUCKS'!

i figure i would share this w/ you guys...i could never figure this out!

Usually I do this as well. Its because I dont want to be the first guy speeding so I wait for someone else to speed ahead. I will stay just behind or right next to who ever is speeding. I usually am not trying to race or looking for problems but atleast if a few cars are speeding I feel more comfortable about it.

Nobody uses cruise control but a very select few who know that it is better on your gas mileage that using your own foot.

I use speed control all the time. And it does give you better gas mileage. By the way, it is illegal to pass a person on the right. People do it all the time, though.

Don't get all frustrated over it, in fact use it to your advantage. Let the other guy be the Bear Bait. I'm an OTR trucker and we do that all the time. Just let him get ahead bout an 1/8 mile, then you can pace him without worry. If you are using a bird dog {radar detector} it will pick up the signal from your pace car giving you enough time to get out of it. Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff.

That's just the price you pay for owning a hot car. Everyone wants to "try" the Stang. That's one of the reasons I got rid of my Fox. Nobody even notices a Mercury Cougar.

Not in all states; it is legal in Oregon. I should be illigal to stay in the left lane. Use it to pass and get back over. When I lived in Germany, you could get fined for driving in the left lane, it was for passing only!. Thats my 2 cents.

Most states have a passing law that says go left pass and get right.......They just don't enforce it. I am on board for keeping right though, I would have to cancel my cruise ever 3 miles, and I could get even better milage, that would help the enviroment, that would reduce global warming, and reduce or dependance on middle east oil.....it a slippery slope.

Maybe we should start a movement.....

It's OK in California as long as there is a traffic lane there. Very specific language in the Vehicle Code.

It's not always a good idea, though. The far left freeway lane is for passing; you really should use it that way, and duck back into lane two when your pass is done. That's one that very few people observe. I have a sign that I show when I have to pass a left-laner doing 55 in a 65 zone:
"LEFT LANE
IS FOR
PASSING"

The other side of the sign says:
"NICE
CAR !"

I prefer to show the second one most.

I think the underlying theme of this thread is.
"Do you change personalities when you get in your car?"

My answer: "NOPE"

Power to the people. Let's get rid of people talking on cell phones why we are at it. An idiot talking on a cell almost ran over me today. She was paying no attention except to her phone call.

You know, that's really annoying. Right beside/behinds sounds like it is often in my blind spot, where I can't see you in my mirrors. Or I'd really like to move over, but you're there. Either way it's still annoying. If I'm following someone I leave 3-4 seconds gap, so if they get hit with Laser or see a cop over a crest I have time to react.

As for the passing on the right, yeah only some states have laws. Michigan doesn't, but Ohio & Inidana do.
