I've hit my rev limiter like everyday for a month after I put my gears in. The car was so different compared to what it was like with the 3.27s. Every time I got to stop for a light or something, I was thrilled. The lady at the drvethrough at Wendy's was like "Noone has ever gotten to me so quickly from the order speaker before!"

 well I guess thats what happens when 1st gear tops out at 8 mph :rlaugh: 4.56 FTW!

I personally have the stage 10 manley crower super beehive valve springs, stage 10 VD cams (not to be mistekn for VT), along with a 50 angle port job on my p-99 intake and shift at 23,000 no problem.

50?

i'm sportin' a 58 angle valve job and my powerbands STARTS at 23k

loser:rolleyes:

i shift mine at around 5800 at the track, but one time i ended up in 2nd from 3rd at about 105mph, and my rear tires locked up even though i floored it (for about 1/4 of a second) it didnt rev past 6300, and no damage done. why would my tires lock up and my motor not rev very high even though it was floored and in second gear at 100+mph????

Probaly cause 2nd gear (with stock gears anyway) redlines around 60mph. You got lucky that the tires locked and kept it from spinning any more.

after i got my first tune.. before the cams.. the retard tuner turned the rev limiter off and i overreved to 6900-7100 ish going from 2nd to 3rd. good thing for him it didnt blow.. but long story short, i wouldnt worry at all about 6100. still running strong.
