Getting ready for a cam swap in my 99 GT. I'm new to the modular motors and was wandering if anyones got a walkthrough to swap out the stock cams. A website or anything would be very useful. Also, any tips I should know and how difficult is the install? Thanks in advance.

This Cam Retention tool is a hot ticket for changing out cams without removing the front cover. There's a write up on it to at Modulardepot.

Agreed.....great tool. That is if you have bolt on and not pressed on cams.

Romeo heads = Bolt on
Winsor heads = press on

'94-'98 = Romeo engine
'99-'00 = Windsor engine
'01-'04 = Romeo engine

Rocketman...I see your from Ventura. Nice to see a local on Stangnet View attachment 525580

Well I have a 99GT, so I assume they're pressed on? Any advice on the install? Thanks
Have some help, have a full weekend for the job, have LOT'S of patientce and LOT'S of beer. Good luck and make sure you have lots of ziplock bags for all the bolts and lable the bags. Label everything if your not 100% sure you'll remember where it goes. I have not done this yet so I can't offer much advice other than read the write ups over and over again til they are burned into the back of your mind. Good luck :nice:
