Doing Upper & lower C/A for the rear do I need the housing bushings as well?

I have some BBK upper & lower C/A I'm putting on & I'm curious if I need to replace the bushings in the rear housing that are where the UCA mount?

I've seen rubber/urethane & sperical replacements which would be best?
The Controll arms all have greaseable urethane bushings in them what should I use in the housing ?? Looking for 1.6 60fts or better.

This is my daily driver & see's maybe10 trips to the track at most during the year...

I have used polyurethane for 15 years, and worn out a couple sets on my 79, but have never used them in the axle uppers. My 82 does 1.6 sixty foots with all stock 1980 rubber bushings, with boxed lcas, and rusted to heck uppers. And Lakewood traction bars.

Over the years the thinking seems to have been leave the axle end rubber so as not to stress the torque boxes. The poly on the body end will do the locating and controlling, and the rubber will cushion the shock and allow enough flex so that the boxes live.

If you're putting the arms in you might as well put the urethane housing bushings in too. Rd has a good point about the torque boxes though....if you are not a hard core racer I think its the way to go. Sounds like it may be good for you.

Well the TQ box strength is a definate issue still since I have not welded or installed any supports. So assuming the rubber axle bushings aren't to beat I'll leave them until I get the re-enforcements.

Rick91GT if your reading this you still have any upper & lower sets lying around for sale?

I got some when I ordered my UCA and LCA's but haven't installed them yet.
