At least you didn't lose to a v6 Accord like me.... :shrug:

Oh well...finally made my first trip to the track, and the results were hardly great, but I did learn quite a bit.

First off let me say that I was really in a hurt in terms of traction, right now I'm running Walmart Goodyear tires on my car (dont laugh too hard) and I couldnt hook for nothing all night. I would end up spinning out through all of first gear every time, even dumping the clutch at 1500 and tires lowered to 25 psi. Got 7 runs in,,,,here's my best of the 7
RT= .626
60'= 2.332
330= 6.440
1/8= 9.811
MPH=74.08
1000=12.657
1/4=15.073
MPH=92.9

I know, pretty pathetic :bang:

My first ever run was 15.7, and I figured out real quick I had better start driving it a lot harder.

Best highlight of the night was on the run posted above, I did beat a 95 cobra due to better reaction time, he had the better 1/4, but I beat him to the line,,,barely.

Anyways, other than getting some good tires/rims, any other suggestions from you guys?? I also did a poor job of weight reduction,,had over 1/2 tank of fuel, speaker box still in back, ect ect.

Oh well...bright spot is I improved over .7 seconds from my worst run.

I ran that exact same time with a vert and 3.73's. Well, no belt as well because it broke off at the starting line.

Id say with some better tires and some practice, better times are to come.

get some sticky tires, and that 60' down to like a 1.9-2.0 and saving 3-4 tenths there, is good for like 6-8 tenths in the 1/4....so then your right at your low 14s....and not that im a track expert (never been :rlaugh: ) but dont dump the clutch...even from 1500rpm...you gotta somewhat ride the clutch at the strip...leave at a higher rpm then 1500 and try using the clutch to control wheelspin not so much the gas....dumping it your either gonna spin (BAD) or bog (BAD)

I launch from 3300 or so at the track on crappy $85 a pop tires, but I ride the clutch quite a bit and it seems to launch pretty nice. No nittos here :( but thats ok cause my car is a daily driver :flag:

Thats true unless you have a set of Drag radials like Nitto 555's or BFG's. In that case you just want to tach it up to like 2-3K and just drop the clutch and let the tires grip.
