What is the specs on the cam? I would let that decide on the gears. for something close to stock specs then I would suggest the 3.73s. If it is going to be a cam that works in the higher rpm band then I would say the 4.10s.
I have had many stangs with gears ranging from stock 2.73s (AOD convertible.....slow....LOL) to 89GT vert 5spd with 4.10s.......a bit much for a stock motor in my opinion.

Everyone's has a different view on this. But just a general consensis seems to be the following.

3.73's for power adders(stick)
4.10's for N/A(stick)

3.73's for cars with long highway use
4.10's for cars with short commutes

So basically, if you're car is only going to see the track and short cruises, then go with some 4.10's or higher. But if it's a daily driver 3.73's or 3.90's would be a better choice.

I've been thinking about getting 3.90s for a while now. I think I'm gonna wait and see what my car does when I do my motor work before I make a final decision. But 3.90s seem like a good all-around gear...good for the track, highway, and in the city whereas 4.10s can be a little much for the highway. Don't get me wrong though, 3.73 are great too....I'm not complaining about mine at all.

i have had my pro 5.0 3.90s in for about a month now and i love them. not too bad on the freeway either. at loke 70mph im hittin about 2500rpms. Some people say that they whine, but its all in the installer, my gears dont whine at all. The only drawback is that there is not a correct speedo tooth gear for the 3.90s so you have to invest in a speed cal.
