I've got a '92 hatchback mustang with ~ 102k miles on it. Her door handles have been shaved so I have to roll my windows down to open the doors (nice alarm remote takes care of this). Door locks are not even in the equation. After she's been sitting for a while the doors are hard to open. I have to push down while pulling the handle from inside to get the door to open. This evening (its COLD out here) I was unable to open the drivers door. Once I drove home, the door was "loose" enough to open without any effort. Other than some shiny stuff on the outside and 3.55 gears, the car is mostly stock. I was thinking sub-frame connectors would solve this problem, but I'm not really sure. How else could I solve the problem for the short term. Any "fun" work will have to wait until I've fixed my other car. Until then, this summer only toy has become a daily driver.

Install doors with functional inner and outer handles. I've always thought shaved doors are a big problem waiting to happen. Have the doors been removed and re-installed? maybe they need to be re-aligned on the body. Also, the door latch that grabs the striker may be bad.

i have this problem too at times, im not sure what causes your proble as it may differ from mine. the problem i have is that when i had mine done, the installer removed the bushings on my door pin. it didnt bother me so much at first (to be honist i was excited with having doors that open at the push of a button as i walked up) but after it sat in the garage for a while, i noticed my doors seemed to stick out a bit, as in it didnt close all the way... i did a little reserch and found that my poppers needed to be adjusted, and really needed to be a little stiffer on the pull after i re installed the striker bushings. this should help...
