Anyone ever use dougs headers? Was looking at bbk shortys but came across a deal for these. I want to swap out the restrictive oem headers for aftermarket. they're normally $337 but i can get them for $275. They're 50 state legal. Any thoughts?

I used Doug Thorley headers 30+ years ago. They were good quality but cant speak for these other than to say I would never buy equal length shorty headers . They are a PITA to install and offer little if any benefit over regular shorty headers. IMO the best shorty headers are Ford Racing SS ceramic coated

How would those compare to these bbk headers going around? Are they easy to install? I see the bbk non ceramics for about $200 on lmr.

I just installed a set of equal length headers on a motor outside of a car and it was a pain in the ass. I'd HIGHLY suggest going with a set of long tubes. You get the performance benefit along with not being impossible to reach bolts and plugs.

I had a set of these on mine. Great quality, no complaints. Like others, I'd suggest going long tube if you were to go with equal length shorties considering the install is basically the same at that point.

I'll echo what others have said... if you're set on equal lengths, get long tubes and you'll not only get better performance but less hassle. If you just want a quick pick me up from stock, go ford racing un-equal shorties.

I'll be a parrot too. From experience equal length shorties are for Masochists. BBK is good and Ford is real nice too. My advice is go ceramic and I prefer long tube headers. I have BBK 1 5/8 long tube ceramic headers with BBK o/r H pipe and love them! There is the extra expense of the much recommended mini starter too of $100.

Well i would go Longtubes but i just got my car up to par as far as Ca Legal emissions go. I wan't to keep it that way. I don't want to deal with worrying about getting fined. I will probably just go with BBK Shortys so i can pair them up with the stock H Pipe without having to deal with any problems. I was just wondering about the Dougs headers because i have never heard of them.
