Although I don't think it would be worth it to switch (especially since it requires welding), the Dr. Gas X is the best sounding mid-pipe for a stang IMO. But if you really want to spend the time and money, go for it and you won't be disappointed. The reason it would sound different than the Bassani is because the X junction is located closer to the manifolds and the design of the X is different: Dr. Gas is a true X while Bassani uses the clamshell design. I would have went with the Dr. Gas if I didn't need cats to swap in to pass emissions...

Just got my Dr. Gas installed I LOVE IT! BEST MOD YET not raspy, but not loud, just a clean sounding mid pipe and the perfomance is great from a mid pipe. i would definatly suggest it.

If you spent all that money on a Bassani I wouldn't change it.

For the difference in performance and price it isn't really that big a a difference.

Keep the Bassani and spend the money on some cams. Just my 2 cents.

I don't understand all of the fuss over different x-pipes... UPR, brand new off ebay for under $100 to the door. Its a true x-pipe and sounds as good as my other stangs and all the other stangs I see on the road with o/r pipes...

I'd just keep the pipe and spend your cash on horsepower.

personally, I'm more of a fan of the ProChamber (especially w/Flowmasters), but of the 2 on the table right now, I'd say go for the Dr. gas if you're not too impressed w/Bassani

Does anyone know if there is an x-pipe that you can switch the cats in and out, for a fox body?
