drag racers i have tranny questions

what is the best aod tranny to use for drag racing i would like to have four gears instead of three so i can get 4.56 or so gears and still drive the car down the highway if i need to


it also needs to stand up to 500+ horsepower

would i be better off getting a lenco or something else instead

He's got one in his twin turbo fox body.

In a 10 second or slower car (I would even say 9s) I don't think this is true. I have been in 10 second stick cars, and they can be consistent. Ever driven a pro shifted 5-speed? If not, then I say hop behind the wheel, it's like cheating. Ever doubt a stick shift drag car head to the NMRA site, and watch the Pure Street and Real Street classes. 9 and low 10 second stick shifted cars. An absolute thing of beauty heading down the track!
