Drag racing and aluminum drive-shaft

what is the best for drag racing (running in the 12's)

Aluminum or steel DS ?

In a 12 sec car the alum is just fine...

one thing to remember is that though the alum DS is lighter, it has a shifted Moment (greater radius).

That said, and I am sure Rick knows and can share , Paul (KC) reported something along the lines of a couple tenths IIRC, from alum alone. Of course the state of mods/tune has a bit to do with what one can see.

yes and when ever you want to rotate something you want all the mass concentrated in the center. The only problem with that and a driveshaft is hoop stress, given everything else equal (wall thickness, material, etc) a larger dia tube is stonger than a smaller dia tube. and that leads us to the larger dia tube that sucks up more power
