Ok i am curious how much a set of 90/10 or 70/30 struts and 50/50 shocks. will help my et times in a 86 GT. right now i have kyb struts and shocks aswell as ford motorsport springs aswell as lakewood traction action rear control arm set up. i forget the spring rate but they were stiff. i doubt i would be changing the springs. i launch on the juice 150 hp shot. my best time in 1/4 mile has been a 11.53 @ 116mph with a 1.60 sixty foot. that was at a track i believe 2000' above sea lvl aswell i had my nephew with me in the car he wieghs 100lbs. my car with me in it is 3267lbs. how much of a difference am i going to see wih drag struts in the car? is it worth going out and buying them? i only drag race wice maybe 3 times a year. its not a big deal for me to switch struts in and out for race duty/daily driving. i placed the same thread in race tech then noticed no one was viewing that section so i re post in here to get some help. thx in advance.

Don't waste your time getting a set of either 90/10 or 70/30..... Go to Strange and get their 10 way adjustable struts. I put their 10 way adjustable shocks and struts all the way around for under $400 and the difference is UNBELIEVABLE! My car is used for bracket racing so I adjust the suspension based on what kind of lights are on the tree and what rollout the track has. It has made a world of difference. If I set it on the 9th setting all the way around, it feels as though I could run a NASCAR race. It's really tight. If I go to super loose, say setting 1, I can pull the front end 5 inches with a stock motor so the weight transfer is there. Cool thing about the Strange struts and shocks, they have a knob to adjust it by hand instead of actually dismounting them to adjust them.

I put 50/50 drag shocks on the rear of my 96 and I didn't notice any help, but I did notice a rougher ride on the street. I removed the front sway bar once, and that didn't do anything for 1/4 mile times or 60ft times. I would have to imagine that 90/10 or those 10way adj. mentioned above will help.

A good drag setup will help alot. In my old 89 i had the drag springs and southsides. It launched good (around 1.8 60 ft), but after adding a set of 70/30s up front I started getting about 3" of air, and the 60 fts dropped in to the low 1.6s and high 1.5s on a mid 12 second car.

thx for the help. i'm doh i for got this accounts password when i was at work so i created doh. is it safe to say adjustable struts and shocks could take 1 or 2 tenths off my already 1.6 sixty foot times? and if it takes that much off a sixty foot what does that equal in a 1/4 mile run?
