draglite 15x5 or 15x6 & what BS?

I want some not so skinny skinnys for the front. I don't do alot of highway driving but don't want it to be dangerous when I do. I know what backspacing to use for 15x4 (2.25). What do I use for wider like 15x5 or 15x6?
Those of you running 15x3.5 or 4 how scary are they if you have to make a sudden lane change or hit the brakes real hard? Any help in this would be much appreciated.
I have hit a wall before breaking into the 11's. My best so far is 12.05 @ 114.79. Next time out I will have to remove that @#$% spare and sound deadener from the hatch. But just in case I figure a little weight loss up front couldn't hurt.

I run 15x4" Draglites with 165R15 tires on my 90 GT convertible. Have had them on the car for about 4 years now. It drives just fine and handles fine too. Lane changes are not a concern...even sudden lane changes are no big deal. Stopping is not as good as with bigger wheels/tires. You do have to drive the car keeping in mind tha there is very small tires up front. But ifd you watch the road way ahead of you you will rarely be suprised and have to panic brake. I have commuted in this setup many times. 25 miles one way in highway & city traffic. I have about 25,000 miles on my 4" fronts. 2 sets of tires so far. and about 1/3 to half the miles were highway.

However, I'll offer this advice. You can take it or not. If I were to do it over again (and I might be soon) I would not go with anything less than a 15x6" with a 195/60R15 for a regularly or daily driven car. My friend had a 88GT with the 15x6"/195 combo and it drove just like stock. I drove it many times. It looked good too. For the daily driver the 15x4" has zero advantage over the 15x6".

I'm 99.9% positive the 15x5" and the 15x6" have the same backspacing.

What is the backspacing? If I measure my stock 10 holes (15x7) backspacing.....and I decide to go with a 15x6 (-1 inch width) do I just deduct 1/2" for the correct backspacing? What is the BS on stock rims?

I will most likely be going w/5's or 6's. I still like to drive mine to and fro work now and again and it is 55 miles one way. I also plan on some 70/30 struts.....that combined w/4" might be deadly.

I got the info off www.summitracing.com in less than 60 seconds. The 15x5" and 15x6" Draglites have 3.5" of backspace. Both wheels will fit your car.

I don't know what the stock wheel backspacing is. But it's proabably the same as, or similar too, the 16x7 Pony wheel which has 4.87" of backspacing.

70/30 struts and 4" wheels will not be deadly. Far from it. 70/30 isn't very much different from the factory strut which is 50/50. 90/10 would be too much.
