drain coolant to change upper rad. hose?

I need to change out the upper radiator hose and was wondering if i would need to drain any of the coolant to do this? Also is there any other advice for changing the hose? Thanks

No, you will lose a little coolant but not much. Just swap out the hose when cold and you're good.

Just draina little out the bottom of the radiator...youll know when there isnt any more in the hose if you squeeze it.

A little will drip out, use a paper towel and clean it up. It isn't a big deal at all...good luck!

what they said...drain a little from the bottom of the rad till you can squeeze the rad hose with no problems, then, when you pull the upper rad hose connection from the rad, just aim it up and pour anything left back the other way

Hell, I swapped a thermostat without draining it. It was quite messy, but I couldn't undo my lower hose and I have no drain.
