I got some d/s rotors today for my stang...install tomorrow....just thougth i'd post and see what you all had to say...got new morse brakes pad and all too..should be some fun stoppin power soon..any thoughts...??

I ordered D/R 13" front rotors w/ 10.5" rears, Saleen calipers all 4 painted white w/ black Saleen lettering, steel-braided brake lines up front w/ SS hose rear & Hawk pads up front. So I love the D/R deal. But as far as performance I can't say yet. I'll be recieving all but the rear rotors w/in the next 2 days.

you can get a zinc washed or a coated rotor to avoid rust, the areas that contact each other will rust but will be cleaned every time you drive.

My FRPP rotors are cracked and do rust, my car gets powerslots soon!!

BTW, my rotors cracked the 1st time being hard on them and this is after bedding the pads and doing everything properly. Lets just say its not easy to heat them up to that point, but its fun.

ive been running powerslots crossdilleds on my car for 3 years now front and rear. trust me, ive ran them hard. and no cracking what so ever yet. still havent even needed to be turned. best rotors ive ever purchased.

downside. they eat pads. be prepared to change them more often. i get average 10k from a set now. :D

I did get a more pronounced noise. It's not loud but it goes shhhhhhh. But it only does it if you are braking from speeds higher than 30mph. This is just my experience...though I probably just have some piece of crap rotors..who knows.

I'm gonna run the Hawk pads up front since I heard they last a longer on a D/S rotor than just a standard pad. You ain't, by chance, running Hawks are you?

I've been running FRPP drilled/slotted for a year now. Haven't babied them at all and run in solo 2. So far no cracking has appeared. The prevent rust I masked off the area the pads rub on and painted them with silver exhaust manifold paint before I installed them. No rust at all.

I agree with Zinc001 about painting the FRPP D/S rotors. Go to Wal-Mart and buy Dupli-Color Aluminum (DH1606) and spray the the backs and front of the rotors without getting it on the braking surface area - no more rust! By the way, I did find that the D/S rotors go through pads quicker. I use EBC "Greenstuff" and got about 15K from first set.
