Drilling 1/8 hole in T-stat- Good/bad idea???

Like the title states, Drilling a 1/8 hole in the T-stat a good idea or bad???

Why not buy one that has a jiggle ball already installed?

No...not a bad idea....

some t-stats have a spring loaded bypass on them just in case the t-stat fails closed..

I don't see that you will actually gain from this myself...

Oh-by the way,
its a brand new Mr. gasket T-stat P/N 9364.
Do you know-If this T-stat has it already or what? i didnt and never really looked...

Its to help burp the cooling system of air pockets on initial refill.

sorry part number #4364-Mr. gasket 180 T-stat.

With that stat, you should already have the jiggle valve that Jason mentioned.
