Drippy Oil Feed to the blower

My oil feed line has a tiny leak and drips out oil. Not a lot, but enough to make a mess after a while under my car. I've gone about 2,200 miles on this oil and my dip stick went from the full line to about 3/4 since. So I'm not losing a ton of oil. That's not my concern.

My concern is what's the best way to fix this? Anyone ever have this problem?

+1 my oil return lines leak too...and after taking out that tire, it twisted one and now my car is smoking again (not draing fast enough and leaking into the exhaust.)

We used aluminum line...one side started leaking, so we replaced it. Now after about a week its leaking again .

Thinking of
A. redoing them in copper.
B. Redoing them with flex line of some sort.

I doubt they gave you compression fittings like we used...so its probably the threads leaking right? Just take some oil resistant teflon tape and wrap the threads..should fix it.

Yea, but it sounds like your oil drain line is leaking. My FEED line to the supercharger is leaking. I was thinking teflon tape should do the trick. It seems like it's the threads are leaking. Hose looks to be in tact.

I can try the teflon route. Can't hurt I guess. THanks man

I could have sworn you said "drain" . My bad...on second thought, since its your pressure side, I would get some plumbers thread dope...oil resistant. that way there is no chance of the tape coming loose and blocking the tiny inlet hole. the pipe dope/sealant will fix your issue also...homedepot should have it.

You might just want to snug up the fitting. Is it leaking at the blower end, or the oil filter end? If it's at the blower you may want to call Vortech and get them to send you a replacement oil feed nozzle just in case (they break frequently).

Don't use teflon tape on the feed line, like hotmustang331 eluded to, clogged oil feed line with teflon tape = BAD The thread dope is good stuff, but make sure you get the kind that adheres, not just lubes (read the labels heh).

Funny, i just posted this same topic yesterday. I have the exact same problem. My oil feed is leaking at the supercharger. I'm not sure what to do either. I called vortech and the dude was an idiot and no help. Most people say just tighten it snug, but not too much because it will snap the feed nozzle. They say not to use anything on the threads because it might get into the oil or if you absolutely have to, use it only on the very outer threads. I think i'll try to tighten it a bit more and see if that works. Its not a very good design if so many of us have trouble with it.

Ugh! It's not that big of a deal, but it's just messy and if it's a widespread issue, they should look into the matter and find a fix for their crappy fittings. Anyone running an aftermarket feed line?

Knock on wood mine isn't doing it we put some lock-tite or what ever its called and a sealent around the feeder and shes held up great.

Ambo, i think i have a product to help cure our problem. Its called JFC sealant pro (Just For Copper) thread sealer. Its a special made thread sealer for hydraulic/pneumatic stuff. I guess it doesnt have any fillers and doesnt degrade so it never clogs any filters, etc... like other sealers can. That should work for our purpose, but i would still be cautious and use it on the outer threads only. According to their website they sell it at ACE hardware, I'm getting some tomorrow and hopefully that should solve that problem.
