I've noticed that i'm not the only one driving an AUTO GT and i want to put on LTs really bad but i don't want O/R because its really not necessary for my car. i was just curious which brand you guys are using? i was planning on BBK but they don't fit the housing of an auto tranny. Then i was about a second away yesterday from buying a set of HOOKER LTs but the only x that fits them is an O/R x-pipe. That is just way too loud for me plus i still have emissions to pass. So then i thought about slp and thats way too expensive. So i am down to the nitty gritty and that looks like MAC. Unless you guys can suggest something else to me.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

I went with the slp setup and couldn't be happier. I honestly can't remember how much i paid for it but i'm pretty sure prices have gone up. Slp makes very high quality exhaust imo and is worth the money. The car sounds sick too.

The cheapest SLP set up i could find was gonna run me around 1,000 for the headers and the X. I'm temted to do it since install is gonna cost me close to nothing. i'm gonna keep looking though.

there is nothing wrong with Mac and they have excellent ground clearance ! just get the ceramic coated.

I have BBK LT's - a bit of a tight fit, and had to get longer O2 sensor wiring for them, but they fit and work great

i called the company and spoke to two of their technicians that said the BBK LTs will not fit an auto tranny because the housing of the tranny is too big. How did you get yours to fit then?? Did you grind down the housing on the tranny???

If MAC will work then i migth just go with them. like i said i don't plan on removing the headers ever. But i am also thinking about going all out and getting the SLP. I mean i love their cat back so i imagine that their headers have to be awesome.

No grinding was necessary...like I said it's a VERY tight fit.

The first time I had them installed I could hear them rattle a little, but you really couldn't notice it if you weren't listening for it. After I got the car back from having some engine work done, I can't hear any more rattling..but my car is so loud now I can't really hear anything except the engine just being on, the lope of the cam & the exhaust.

MACs are deffinately my cheapest option so i really am stuck on what to do. I think i'm going to steer away from BBK because i don't want to take a chance of them not fitting and then having to sell them on ebay, its just a P.I.T.A!!

They were a PITA no doubt, but at the time there were virtually no options for LT's with an auto so we made the BBK's work.

I understand completely and, i bet your car sounds awesome but i can't afford to have something go wrong. i need to do this right from the start. i wish hooker had a catted x or if i could find somebody who made a catted x for hooker than i would just get them! Right now its between flowtech, MAC, and SLP. SLP though is my last choice due to price.

Oh I'm agreeing with you - unless you could get a really sweet deal on BBK go with another brand; a lot of people have had luck with MAC.
