drive shaft and clutch questions

ok ive noticed a difference between two drive shafts that i recently pulled out of my notchback and my buddies notch. both 5 speed both 5.0lthe front piece where it goes into the trans one has a big round thing as part of the yoke thingy the other one doesn't. whats the deal?i noticed my buddy's hatch back has the round thingy too his is auto 5.0l.ok i have an adjustable clutch cable with a king cobra clutch it enguages kinda high do i need to tighen or loosen the cable?

It sounds like the AOD DS, like you thought.

If your point of engagement is high up on the pedal and you want it lower, loosen the adjustable cable.

how far can i back off the adjuster on the lower part of the cable. can i use the aod DS on my t-5

Hmm, never backed an adjustable cable back too far. I would surmise that you can run it down (looser - more slack) till the hold-down nut is right at the end of the threaded rod. Even with my SVO quadrant, I was adjusted about in the middle of the threaded rod (that was a fairly large quad - I dont think there are many bigger since there isnt room. It was about double the length of the UPR single hook I replaced it with).

Get with the AOD to T5 swap guys about the DS. My understanding is that the AOD DS does work, but it isnt optimal.
