Driver side speaker not working...Advice?

Hello all,

After having owned my mustang for a few years now, I am getting really annoyed with my non-working driver side speaker and decided to do something about it. I bought my car used and I actually have never seen this speaker working...
Could the speaker be busted?
Coud it just be unplugged?
Before I take the whole door panel off, I just wanted to check with you all if it could simply be a dead fuse or something...

Any idea?

Could be anything:

1. unplugged
2. blown out
3. If it's the stock radio the driver front output could be bad( nore commonly known as a dead channel) this could also be possible on a n aftermarket radio.

There aren't fuses for the individual speakers. Only 1 for the radio itself.

Sounds like I will have to remove the door panel and check it out then.

Thanks for the links, I had seen the door panel removal before. I decided to investigate that speaker problem after you made the removal look so easy

People have been warning me about breaking clamps/pins when you take the door panel off. Have you had any problem of that kind?

kick it out a window or fix it. I'd kick it out a window.

Re-place it with Eclipse Point Source 6x8 speakers! A+ material

No. I've never broken any clips. The only way you could do that is probally if you tried to pull the panel clear off the door.

Alright I actually managed to remove the door panel earllier than expected and without problems...just a walk in the parc

I removed and tested the speaker and it works fine...Not sure if this is such a good news after all...Where should I look next to solve my problem? I assume there is no signal comming to the speaker...Where should I investigate now?

how did you test the speaker? you should've also tested the wiring going to the speakers, with a multimeter.

I removed the speaker and hooked it up to my living room stereo. Sound came out just fine, so I assume the speaker is not the problem.
I have not tested the wiring yet...I need to buy a multimeter first, but I am sure that I don't have signal going to the speaker .
Where is the wiring going when it leaves the door? How can I track it? What should I do?
